George W. Blaine, also known as the “The Decider” has turned markets upside down in New York. “From down here, it all looks very scary” admitted the topsy turvy chief executive.

“Wasn’t it supposed to be David Blaine, the magician doing this?” queried spunky, vivacious, perky presenter Kelly Ripa?

“Well, Kathy, I just felt I had to go on television as soon as possible and rescue something that has been in free fall lately.”

“Your political reputation?”

“Well, Regis, it’s the country. Country first. We need to restore the full faith and then I’ll worry about the credit later. You know, at times like this I take strength from Harry Truman, a great American, A DE-MO-CRAT. He was unpopular, too. He had a sign on his desk: “the buck breaks here.” That’s what I’m focused on.

“So what is it we need, sir?”

“Basically, you know, Montel, it’s a really, really big check, mucho Dee nero, signed off to my friend and a great American, Treasury Secretary Paulson. And it’s got to be fast. That’s why I’m doing this, working hard for the American people as they expect me to.”

“And if this doesn’t work?”

“Well, I may try being shut up in the ice cube again.”

“Thank you sir, and God Help the United States. I’ve got to get down, the blood is really rushing to my head.”
